VirtuCache

VirtuCache is a VMware certified software installed in vSphere hosts that improves the storage performance of VMware VMs by automatically caching all storage IO from VMs to in-ESXi host NVMe, SSD, or RAM.

VirtuCache caches all VM reads and writes to in-host cache, and it protects against data loss in case of host failure by mirroring the write cache to cache media in other hosts in the same ESXi cluster. Caching is fully automatic with cache capacity dynamically allocated to VMs based on usage patterns.

It is an easy to use downloadable software, installed on each host in 10 minutes, and without requiring host maintenance mode. It requires no storage and host reconfiguration. And no ongoing administration is required.

Testimonials

(2 min video) How VirtuCache improved storage performance for VMware VMs for Onhold Inc. without requiring a storage appliance upgrade.

“We first used VirtuCache to improve the performance of CEPH storage which was very cost effective for us. We have since acquired a reasonably priced Seagate All-Flash Array to power our VDI and EMR applications, and we continue to see the benefits of VirtuCache accelerating the Seagate AFA as well. Especially for our VDI, VirtuCache caching to host RAM results in very low latencies for our virtual desktops.”

“We have deployed VirtuCache across our Global VMware infrastructure since 2011. Though our storage arrays and networks have changed over these past ten years, having gone from EMC Clariion FC arrays to Hitachi HDS, to newer technologies like StorSimple, and CohoData and now to IBM arrays, the one thing that has stayed constant in the Storage IO path is Virtunet’s caching software for VMware. We currently pair Virtucache with host RAM to reduce latencies in all our VMs. The VMs that are specifically benefited are our Database VMs, ERP applications, Exchange, Domain Controllers, and VDI VMs”
