Error : Cannot remove module vnx2: Consumed resource count of module is not zero

If while unloading or loading the driver, you get an error message of the type

“Cannot remove module vnx2: Consumed resource count of module is not zero”

This happens because ESXi sees a different resource utilization for the VirtuCache driver than what it is actually consuming.

Then the only way to load the installed driver is to reboot the host.

In this situation, when you do esxcli software vib list | grep vnx2, you will see the correct VirtuCache driver vib version in the vib list, only that this driver doesn’t load. Once you reboot the host, the driver will be loaded automatically.
