FusionIO cards in ESXi 6.x

Sandisk FusionIO PCIE flash cards like IoDrive2 are some of the best SSDs on the market, comparable to newer NVME cards. Especially for low queue depth workload like VDI, they are even better performing.
However please keep in mind that they use a lot of memory on the host. 20GB spare RAM for the 1.2TB version for Iodrive2 is recommended.
Also in ESXi 6.x, when you install the software driver for these cards, it doesn’t let you install any other vibs on the host. You have to use -f flag to force install the vib.
