What happens to the cache when a VM is powered off

The read cache for the VM is invalidated (deleted) and the write cache is synced (destaged) to the backend storage appliance, before the VM can be powered off. And once the VM is shutdown, it can be removed from inventory;  moved between vcenters; moved to hosts or clusters that don’t have VirtuCache; at will, since there is no cache associated with a powered off VM anymore.
